Decorating with Glazed Porcelain Tile

Decorating with Glazed Porcelain Tile

I'm in the process of remodeling the kitchen and bathrooms, and have been looking at a bunch of different flooring options. After weighing the pros and cons of the various materials available in my budget range, I've decided to go with glazed porcelain tile. There are just so many advantages to using this material that it would be kind of silly to choose anything else.
The thing I like most about glazed porcelain tile is its durability. I have a pretty big family, so I expect there to be lots of traffic in the kitchen and bathrooms. It wouldn't make much sense to use a flooring material that would degrade in just a few years. Glazed porcelain tile is extremely durable, and will no doubt stand up to all the wear and tear that my kids will dish out. I know that I won't be able to afford to redecorate again anytime soon, so I need the current changes to last a very long time.
Another reason I'm choosing glazed porcelain tile over other products is the wide range of designs and styles available to me. Judging from all the different varieties featured in the stacks of interior design catalogs I have on my desk, I can get glazed porcelain tile in any color under the sun. Moreover, the glazing process allows for the creation of intricate patterns on all the tiles. This makes for a far more decorative floor or wall covering than the unglazed version, which is what I want. Function and beauty is an unbeatable combination in my book!
And finally, I like how easy it is to clean glazed porcelain tile. Because of the glazing, the tiles are essentially nonporous. That means they are much more resistant to stains and are much easier to clean. I can simply use my favorite bathroom cleaner and a damp sponge to get the tiles sparkling again. As someone who absolutely hates housework, this is a major consideration.
Right now I'm shopping around for the best deals. I've got a good idea of which glazed porcelain tile pattern I want to go with in each room, so now it's just a matter of finding a store that sells this particular design at a decent price. Thankfully, there are lots of websites that offer bathroom and kitchen tiles at near wholesale prices without requiring minimum purchase quantities. I'm fairly certain I'll find a terrific discount soon enough.
Overall, I feel confident about my decision to go with glazed porcelain tile during this remodel process. This material fits all the criteria I established in terms of cost versus performance, quality, and looks, so there's no reason to think I'm making a mistake. I'm excited to get my tiles in here and see how the finished rooms turn out!
